Re-do HP "Practical Transistor Series" of videos from 1970s

One of HP's people who trained service techs, George Stanley, did a series of lessons that were put on video tape. At the time it seems they wanted to bring their service people up to speed on how the "new" transistors worked and how to troubleshoot transistor circuits. Apparently the videos became so popular that HP started selling them to customers.
Archive.org has the full set of the series:

(has parts 9, 10 and 11)

Except for the last one, the video quality is very badly deteriorated. The first five parts are also at

, but these just seem to be copies with colour artifacts removed.
I haven't gotten very far through them because I'm finding it very hard to follow the deteriorated visuals without knowing the subject matter. It seems the promise of the course is knowledge that will allow understanding of transistor circuits by inspection and to develop troubleshooting skills.
I was wondering if the ideas covered in these videos could be re-done in a series of EEVBlog videos? While the "writing table" and "magnetic board" were probably great at the time, DaveCAD, the whiteboard and circuit demonstrations would be much better.
George Stanley also wrote a book called Transistor Basics, but I don't know if it would be of any help.
