✅OSHWA Certification provides an easy and straightforward way for producers to indicate that the products meet a uniform and well-defined standard for open-source compliance.
Big thanks to our amazing community and open source contributors.

Excited for tech fans to share feedback, toss around ideas, and help grow this project together!🥳

This "OSHW certification" stuff is nonsense. A project is made open source by releasing it under an open source license. "Certification" is neither required nor involved.

If you want to make open source hardware or software, just choose an open-source license and you're done. You don't need any approval by any political organization.

Of all the things I care about in a product, this is very low down - how many other actual improvements could have been made with the effort involved

Totally agree an open-source license is the core part. For us, OSHWA cert isn’t about “getting permission,” more like a quick way to show we actually shared the files. Plus, the OSHWA folks at least cared enough to check them in a proper, non-profit way.

Kinda like a driver’s license: you can drive without it, but having some serious procedure to check makes things clearer. 😄 In the end, real tech folks and time will judge how open it really is. Well, I’m committed to work on it  ;) And it would be greet if we have your support and help keep us on track! Cheers!

Just like the "CE" marking on all the Chinese products is proof they are all legit CE Certified right?  :)

Haha, good one! CE has its value, but folks here know how those mysterious marks really work. 😅 Good or bad products can come from anywhere. Well, staying on the good side’s always a challenge. We just keep pushing to be there. 😉
