Makerbot Firmware
PeterM:
Hello
Funny, watching EEVblog #500 where Dave is complaining about not been able
to re-program the Atmel micro!. Since I am a Atmel user, I admit Avr Studio is bloated but
nevertheless reading a HEX file should not be a problem.
My opinion is, the only reason this issue is occuring with the HEX file
is because the file is:
1) File is corrupt
2) Is not standard HEX file, it's in a different format.
I don't know which model Makerbot you have, I was going to find the firmware and
try it myself to see if I get the same error (I don't own a Makerbot).

There's a thread on this already, Dave failed at Github and downloaded an HTML file thinking it was HEX :-DD

Ya know, it's basic for me but I do IT work for a living. I might laugh at this situation but Dave could run 1000 circles around me when it comes to anything electronics.

I know, I was just kidding! He was kind of pissed about it... >:D

Apparently a very common mistake it seems.
Also, the Atmel software did NOT help by saying it was corrupted or invalid file, instead it said it was an incompatible hex format.
