I'd love to see this come to fruition, but it seems to me to be too big a project for the potential user base.

Also, half decent lenses tend to cost more than the camera bodies, and I can't see that being able to be done under the OSH model.

Seems thay are more interested in openness for flexibility rather than cost etc.
If they can buy the sensors I see no reason this isn't entirely doable - everything else can be done with off-the-shelf parts and some mechanical bits.
