For instance, a scanning electron microscope is not even a medical device per-se. But who.int is suggesting to use one for spotting presence of the virus, not in the case of a diagnosis of a patient, but to give an insight prior to full analysis:

Likewise, COVID auto-tests are precious tools that permits to notice earlier if someone is infected by COVID, yet are not recognised as real tests.
