This is a case of quality rather than quantity Buddy, please keep up the good work. A meeting between you and Paul at Mr Carlson's Lab would be a fun thing to see, I wonder how far apart you are?

Best make the meeting at your place, Carlson's Lab doesn't have enough room to swing a cat.

Thanks Charles. I rather try and get a few good videos out than a ton of useless ones.  I am however having a blast with them.  Not sure just where Paul is at but would love to get my hands on all that neat test gear he has.  May not be able to swing a cat but still be fun. Swing a cat... :-DD
Better yet, Him and I fly over to Germany and Meet Peter at TRXBench. Now that would be awesome  :-+

I don't give away subscriptions readily and consider it giving away part of my soul, you easily earned it..... :-+

Also I didn't see the subscription count jump up to 1000, perhaps it takes time or something to show up.

Wow, I am honored. Thank you very much. Oh, and thanks for sharing part of your soul :)
Yes it takes a few moments before it shows up and even about 24 hours before I can see who subscribed.

You don't know how happy I am now. Thanks again :-+ :-+ :-+

Thank you, thank you very much!
Now it is time to party...... No wait, I still have 3 videos to edit and upload  :-DD

I will tell you this. It takes a lot of work to keep a YouTube channel going. All the video shooting, editing, and answering post, pm's and emails. Almost like a job. How does folks like Dave do it?

Thank you again Muttley Snickers  :-+

Barely.
My unanswered email list is embarrassing.
I spend so much time on all the small stuff I don't have enough time to make videos  :palm:
I need to spend some serious money and effort on people to do every possible thing I shouldn't be doing myself. But then I have to manage those people...
Perhaps I should then hire a manager  :o

Picture just what one thousand viewers is like in the real world. It's like every time you make a video you are performing in front of a huge packed auditorium!
In the real world that is celebrity level speaking engagement room packing every time you do a video!

That's easy. Setup a forum so people can go and ask questions.  |O

I could go on ...but you already get the idea :)

Yep, why I said I wonder how you guys do it.  I know you have a lot on your plate with around a thousand videos.  I try and comment on everyone reply. There is no way you can do that and live a normal life.
Manager eh?  :-DD

That is a bit scary to think about.  Never could have done it without your help.  :-+
I finally got a chance to catch your live video the other night. It was great. Threw out a few comments but I know it was hard to see with all those folks commenting.  Was thinking if I could just get the Great Dave to notice me  :-DD
In the end I think you did see me throw out Alans call sign "w2aew" when you asked about it.
Chat was difficult to keep up with.

Hats off to you Dave.

I checked, and it took about 15 months for me to get to 2400 subscribers:

Don't have data on how long it was until 1000 subs.

Thanks for sharing that link. Nice to see the historical time line from now to then.

I think I suck at doing videos. I do however get some great comments on the subject at hand.  Think I have said this before but I started just over a year ago.  Around December of last year I was under 100 subs. January of this year I started pushing harder. Amazing that I can produce something that people like.

You have a lot going for you. You are very likable, fun to watch and energetic. You also have a much broader audience than I. You cover a lot of variety of electronics, I mostly do radio and vintage test gear.  I do plan on expanding soon. Another reason why I want that stereo trinocular microscope.

I have been following another YouTuber for a while now that has really taken off. April Wilkerson. She does wood working projects. A nice young lady with power tools :-+ No wonder she  was able to quit her job.

If you ever gave a tutorial for YouTube, I would pay for that.

Well done Buddy! As I said before your videos are a case of quality rather than quantity so please keep up the good work.

As for your latest video on replacing the LEDs in the Trio/Kenwood rig, 10/10 for the video but 0/10 to Trio/Kenwood for lack of servicability. Having to remove a front panel, a VFO and mess around with the preselector mechanism just for three LEDs is crazy.

Why thank you Charles. In my mind I still think my videos suck. I do try and cover as much details as I can in a way everyone can understand it.  But with all the comments I get that are so positive leads me to think I did something right.  Your comment helps confirm it  :-+

Not sure what the folks at Kenwood was thinking when they stuck these leds there. When I really think about it they may have thought they will never go out and was not expecting these radios to last this long. Or lets do this so they will send it in to repair.  Either way it is just a poor design on their part. Specially with the preselctor having to be loosened up.  I am sure the board could had been bolted in from behind and could slide out for service.

When the viewer asked me how to do this I knew I could have never explained it to him. Video was the only way. And this radio did have a weak led in it. He sent me an email saying he did not mean for me to go to this extreme lol.
