They are already in the list.  Did you miss them because you only saw the M-Z list?  I have wondered if people will miss part of the list because it is split.

No I must have missed it unless you added them just in the last week, the channel came up as a recommended video while I was watching youtube. I think most intelligent people can see where the alphabet ends but if not you can always add in bold at the bottom "list continues in the next post" etc.

OK.  Have fun with this....

A couple of structural changes - but things should be pretty self-explanatory.

For anyone who is interested, I use a technique to pull out selected rows and create a list in a secondary location (another worksheet in this case) ... without any gaps.

Obsolete (and has a formula error) version of spreadsheet removed.

Hopefully this will fix it.

Rookie mistake.  I used the INDIRECT function to isolate the positions of the entries from the formatting ... except for the added tests I included for splitting the list.  Doh.

Just applied the same technique for the extra tests and it all looks good.

The rookie mistake wasn't the formula ... it was inadequate testing.  :palm:

Wondering why the numbers in the first columns in wk2 when there are none in wk1?
Simple.  wk1 and wk2 do different things - and they do them on all the data

Sheet wk1 is the same as it was in the previous spreadsheet.  It is used to preformat certain sections - and it does this for all the input data.
Sheet wk2 was the old "Forum Data" worksheet and uses the pre-formatted data from wk1, just as it did before. If you copy column "D" you will get the original, single list.  The addition of columns "A" and "B" were to enable the filtering required to split the list.  Column "C" is for future expansion.

The data only gets split when it reaches the two output worksheets.

Rookie mistake.
:-DD  The spreadsheet is so complex no rookie could have made it.

As I said, the rookie mistake wasn't the formula ... it was inadequate testing.  That mistake applies to even a single cell formula.

Roger, YouTuber Marco Reps would not mind having his member name baltersice added here. https://www.eevblog.com/forum/beginners/beginners-say-hello-to-ds212-($99-open-source-1mhz-stm32-color-pocket-scope)/msg1352515/#msg1352515 (https://www.eevblog.com/forum/beginners/beginners-say-hello-to-ds212-($99-open-source-1mhz-stm32-color-pocket-scope)/msg1352515/#msg1352515)

Interesting factoid dept:
His channel has rocketed to 35,000 subs (gaining over 100 new subs each day for the last 100). I wished him success and I hope he doesn't forget to chum-around on the forum now and then on his way to stardom.. With his camera, production and layout skills he could make so much more (so I guess he's a real electronics aficionado then..). IMHO, watching his video's is like watching the older Leslie Neilson comedies, you begin to notice things hidden in plain sight on the 2nd and 3rd viewing. It's definitely not something you'd expect from someone so gifted in our geeky electronics world.

Updated subs count again... this channel really seems to be catching air!

*edit - subs now at 35k (still catching around 100 subs daily. Gee-whiz, this guy dosen't have to try..)

A - YouTube sometimes makes decisions on what to show you, depending on what you watch and who shares your PC.

For quick, date-ordered channel viewing, make this URL a frequent bookmark. (you must be signed-in to YT or Gmail)
https://www.youtube.com/feed/subscriptions?flow=grid&view=0&sort=dd (https://www.youtube.com/feed/subscriptions?flow=grid&view=0&sort=dd)

Leave results tab open, and right-click open video's in new tabs (so you have a static page to maintain viewing order). - Cheers!

Something I never noticed that maybe we should update..? DiodeGoneWild is also the author of the very popular danyk.cz electronics site. http://danyk.cz/index_en.html (http://danyk.cz/index_en.html) Over the last few years, I cannot count the amount of visits I've made to this very informative site. I'm sure others will agree and if he's a member here, we should probably list his member name too. FWIW, not much time has passed since we listed him and the channel has risen to 26k subscribers. His reverse engineering descriptions are well done! (he must be a genuine DaveCAD Deluxe licensee..)  ;D

Hi,
I also have a small electronics channel. Currently about 4400 subscribers. The main focus is on custom made RC electronics. My "Micro RC" system includes a 2.4GHz radio and is also able to control Lego and Meccano vehicles per infrared. I have also designed an Arduino Mega / Due based industrial PLC. The software and the board files of my creations are available on my GitHub.

It would be great, if you could add my channel to the list.

Thanks in advance.

Wow, I didn’t know this list existed. Thanks Cliff Matthews and Brumby for making this list, and Ez24 who seems to be maintaining the forum copy of the list.

I guess when you look at the big picture of how many videos YouTube has, how much content is uploaded daily, how many creators publish videos, this genre is actually pretty small. And yet a lot of the channels have the same idea, I have scrapped 8 or 9 videos because another channel came out with the same videos that same week. I remember a credit card teardown I did, and explaining the chip and pin theory idea behind it. The day I was editing it was the day Dave released a video on it, so I don’t want to viewed as copying someone else’s content, so to the trash bin it went.
You would think with a small community arround electronics we wouldn’t overlap. But it happens a lot more then you would think. Ideas and draft videos of mine have even crossed the same time as AVE.

You would think with such a small % or the big picture every channel would have more subscribers and be thriving. I guess we are at the mercy of YouTube’s algorithms in the end.
So thank you for this listening posted in one of the most popular electronics engineering forums, I’m sure this will help people find content they are looking for while avoiding the youtube suggestion clickbait videos.

Thank you,
Scott

Wow, I didn’t know this list existed.

I am surprised that you were on the list and did not know it.  Should I notify all members who are on the list and let them know that their YT channel is listed?

No, I wouldn’t go that far. My time is limited and I’ve been focused on other parts of my life. So I just haven’t been on the forum that much unless I get an email notification on a specific thread. Besides, anyone that has a “public youtube” channel wouldn’t complain about being on a list that helps promote the channel. If they do, then they should make the channel private.
It’s a great list, I’ll have to start checking out some of the other channels also now.
Thanks again,
Scott

...anyone that has a “public youtube” channel wouldn’t complain about being on a list that helps promote the channel.
BTW, nice channel! and good cross section of topics, duly subscribed.
One question though, I've seen only a couple of cases (such as yours) where the subscription count is masked out. If you already have almost a quarter million views, what's the purpose of not showing it? (There are many that subscribe to channels weighted largely on crowd popularity..)

I almost a quarter million views? Is this good? I don’t check the stats or follow the channel views and stuff.
The channel history, well let’s say I didn’t start it for fame or money, that’s for sure. . I monetized a few videos to try and recover cost on camera, mics, and videos equipment, but that’s the only reason. I’ve only made maybe $600 or $700 over a couple of years, a 100 published videos, and time vs dollar isn’t worth it. In fact I will be removing all the ads soon.

The reason for the hiding subs is the sites that grossly marks up how much they think a youtube content creator makes. And those companies that want to give you free stuff, but stipulate what you need to do in the video, want to approve it first, they tend to leave you alone more if they can’t see your subscriber count.
Maybe that’s why I’m getting more of those offers now, they are looking at the views now, hmmm. They send me the terms, I reply with a template of my terms knowing they won’t agree then they usualy go away.

I was told a few years ago I can’t work anymore after 18 years with the same company, I was hoping to reach 20 and ask for an early retirement but the doctors forced me out. Probably a good thing, I was just getting worse anyway.
A rare disease called Stiff Person Syndrome, a heart condition and other complications, I won’t get into the details. This also prevented me from my normal things I liked to do such as remodeling my kitchen, fixing my roof myself, rebuilding classic cars. So I needed a new hobby that would take my mind off the pain on nights I couldn’t sleep, a distraction. And get to help people in the comment section also. Meet new people, even Skyped with some to help them with a microscope issue half way around the world.
So that’s how the channel started, and why I built the lab.

At the same time since I didn’t meet the normal list of approved disabled conditions, and “had to much work experience” (whatever that meant) I was also denied assistance. Never needed it before, never asked for it, but after paying a lot into the system and now I can’t get it. So this had to go in front of a judge, a 2 year waiting list in Ohio, unreal.
The last thing I wanted was disability, or a judge, or my private insurance looking at one of these sites that claim I make some ridiculous amount of money from these youtube funding exstimating sites and deniying me help, when it was far from the truth. But the court case is comming soon and once it’s ruled I will remove the ads, and probably show the subscribers again.

I’ve been lucky that I saved up enough to cover me for the last few years, didn’t loose my house or car, wasn’t buried in credit card debt because I don’t beleive in credit cards. And still managed to pay for my own health care out of my own pocket for the last 2 years. With the cost of health care I could have had a Tesla instead, so I guess that dream is over. At least YouTube paid for one month of healthcare for me. :-)

I was also lucky that 12 years ago I decided to check a box that paid for insurance if I went blind, or list my fingers and couldn’t work on computers anymore.  I think it was $20 a month. You never think you will need this type of insurance, you hope you never have to use it, but I’m glad I had it now. They are an insurance company so they tried to get out of paying me the asssistance money monthly last year. I guess they expect people to just give up and go away, or just accept it. They don’t know me that well. It’s supposed to cover me until I’m 65, so I cashed out a small pension, hired a lawyer, fought for 10 months and won. I’m hoping they don’t try that again since the lawyer wasn’t cheap. I could have bought a Keysight high end oscilloscope.

So I thought if I hid the subscribers then I won’t need to justify the money those website claim you tubers make to a judge, or my insurance, or disability. It probably didn’t work, but hopfully they won’t look at one of those sites if they see I have a channel. After court and all this stuff I’ll probably change the setting again.
But I did just break 1,000 subscribers last month. So I guess a quarter million views with 1,086 subscribers is a good ratio when I think about it.
Wait, 1,087 now that you subscribed. Thanks!
Scott

Sorry for the long reply, I coiner find a way to explain this without some of the details.

One question though, I've seen only a couple of cases (such as yours) where the subscription count is masked out.

I have wondered about this also.

I guess my answer to Cliff answers your question also.

Cliff, you mentioned based off crowed popularity, I don’t think 1,000 is that popular. Maybe it is if you look at all the channels and what percentage 1 creator is on the wholem platform? I’ve never never thought about it.
The subscribers is the one thing I was watching, just because I received an email when someone subscribed. The channel was on a steady sub increase even if I didn’t do a video one week, or one month. Then YouTube changed the algorithms again and I had 3 or 4 months of no new subscribers.
I recently did an experiment and found it worked and the subscribers started up again. I don’t know if I will be able or meet the requirement for continued growth based off the results of the experiment. But it was interesting to see this confirmed, I did it because of another video I watched.

On my first reply I almost include a write up about this expermanet, tips for others with channels and how to get subscribers with the new algorithm. But it was long, and off topic. So I decided to draft it for now, maybe do a “opion” video explaining this later? I did a quick search and seems to be a lot of videos about how to break 1,000 subs. The problem with these videos is they are old, and based off old YouTube requirements and algorithms so I don’t think those videos would apply anymore or help anyone.

Or maybe I should post it on this forum? Just nor sure what would be the best place for it to be posted.
Scott

LOL, nope. I don’t even think anyone from my family subscribed, and only a handful of friends.
I didn’t advertise it on Facebook, I barley go on Facebook like the rest of my family.

Yup, but I’ll be nice with my comment and opinion on this one since I’m a transplant, lol.
Grew up in Philadelphia, moved around for a bit when I was 19. Ended up in San Francisco , east bay for 18 years. The housing mortgage thing happened, company was bought out. New company wanted to keep me and did a relocation to Ohio. I think I’ve been in Ohio for 8 or 9 years now? I came say for sure, I’m horrible at tracking time.

Please ... I go on the bottom of any credits list.  ez24 is the custodian of the list.  He keeps the reference copy, makes all the changes and updates the forum posts on an ongoing basis.  Cliff Matthews has been around since the beginning, actively involved with ideas and contributions as well as promoting the list.  I just put together a spreadsheet to make life a lot easier for ez24.  That was a bit of fun for me, consisting of several one-off efforts with long periods of doing nothing.  It is ez24 who has taken on the ongoing responsibility of maintaining the list.  That is a significant responsibility and one which I cannot overstate.  I'm just glad I have been able to help.

Their is to much false information videos explaining things wrong, or half fast. So I do prefer to fact check everything before I post a video to be as accurate as possable so people can learn something from it like yours.

Anyone - Please add me if you can, Subscribers less than 500..

Hi Phil, welcome to EZ town!   :-+

ElPaso - I'm subscribed but IIRC, I looked at lots of these channels and decided I couldn't flood poor EZ with every CB and tube-amp channel (we had a fixed list size then).

joernone - Similar to above, lots of mixed stuff.. Sure wish they had playlists, since almost all the titles are Mish-Mash and tell little about what's in them (we can add a search parameter if the titles are good...)

Here's one similar: Blue Glow Electronics https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVXv8_dfJjqWluEFktmv12A/videos (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVXv8_dfJjqWluEFktmv12A/videos)

Lot's of these guys are are like farmers (out standing in their field..), but I get dilemma's about what to submit..
Anyhow, Thanks keep'em com'in y'all.

Maybe you're right. I wish this channels were little bit more focused on EE.. :) :-DMM Specially joernone - he does a lot of good restoration series  :-+

Alright, looking through a few more channels I subscribe to, this guy's good xraytonyb and has 4,386 subs (mostly repairs and test equ.)

No problem! Maybe xraytonyb never got submitted, was because I used to view channels over a 4 Mb/sec DSL, now it's a 30 Meg. Going to any channel I place "/videos" on the end of the URL (regardless of weather the user allows viewing or not..) and scroll down to see all the video thumbnails. If I saw lots of "money-shots" of open chassis' with tubes or more than one transformer, etc.. I would shove this back to back burner.

Is it inappropriate to plug my own channel and ask if you could add my channel ? https://www.youtube.com/user/pa4tim (https://www.youtube.com/user/pa4tim)

Started this summer. 22 videos, 52 subscribers. Tutorials, repairs, teardowns/reviews. Most content will be measurement gear related. I try to make some repairs a bit tutorial like and some if it is about exotic stuff. But not yet sure how to do that. For instance the last one (anti mouse beeper) or the one about a toothbrush. Not because it is worth to repair but to show beginners some simple measurements and fault finding.

I also want to make some videos about my hobby; component testing. My best watched video is about testing smps transformers. That really surprised me.

My work (and hobby) is repairing measurement and calibration gear. But also some automotive and industrial electronics. Mostly the older not longer supported (but often expensive) gear without any documentation. So no shortage on subjects. My favorite, the hopeless cases and boards you can not put power on. The only way to repair those is to test all components because that involves playing with all my components testgear like IC testers, all kind of LCR and impedance  bridges, VNA's, curvetracer etc. I also have a lot of voltnut stuff.

Nope, plug your own channel. Change your eevblog signature while your at it also to plug.

Older stuff is the best, some of my best video are the older equiptment. Then other things also unexpected like a screw driver Review for an iFixit kit, go figure. I never did a video on the Keithly PicoMeter find and repair, but I should have. I still may one day when I have time. In fact, Dave has one like mine but mine has an extra add on that explains those extra ground clips Dave wasn’t sure why it had them.like you said, no documentation so the more videos, the more other know about this stuff.
And usualy when repaired, and calibrated again they run like a tank and dint drift anymore because of the age. I love that no drifting part once those older wire wound resistors settle down over 10 to 15 years of use.

We had AvE on at one point, but I think Dave and a general consensus narrowed this down and away from machinist videos and even away from general maker/3D printer stuff. I think it would be fair to say there's enough in just electronics to keep this growing list on focus. I'm not saying 3D-p does not apply, we do have some listed, but few ever coach on details as applied to electronics (eg: steppers, drivers, and maintenance).

On some of the items just listed, I'll say this: In the last 20-years there has been enough techno-trash filling our landfills (and personal garages..) that there's a whole bunch of channels that look like electronics channels at fist glance, but are not. Channels with tons of tear downs (which, if I'm not mistaken were practically coined by Dave), are a dime a dozen now, but most are without demonstrable application of theory. The thing we need to ask is, "what can be learned and replicated here?"

I'll reserve comment on the refrigeration and power invertor guys (others may give some opinion), but Simone by her own admission "as a non-engineer, shitty robot expert", looks as though it's a popularity channel with average video lengths between 5-7 minutes with plenty of cute face shots. Just my opinion, but Rinoa Super-Genius (a bit weird) rambles on too much dragging stuff through the dirt and mud around her backyard and collecting junk and veering off to other topics. I was subscribed to the channel for a year or so, until I saw enough monotonic rambling over junk to nip that one too.

Maybe we should have separate lists for videos that aren't really DIY electronics, but are likely to be of interest to many electronics hobbyists?

I would say that knurlgnar24 is definitely the most comprehensive resource I have some across when it comes to power inverters. Besides the sheer number of different inverters taken apart and tested, there's also quite a few videos of how to repair and modify inverters.
I would also say that subcooledheatpump definitely fits into the DIY electronics list because there are a new series of videos that are about power electronics.

Dave said such a list can be posted here, it just needs someone to make and maintain it.  One list is enough for me.  I would love to see such a list and I think it would be more popular than this one.  With Brumby's spreadsheet it would not be difficult.

Any volunteers ?

The steps I do are:

- Copy the YT name and Paste Special it into the spreadsheet.
- Copy the URL and paste it
- Look at the sub number and type it in
- Read "About" and copy anything useful and paste it under Additional Information
- Make a guess about General Content and type it in
- If needed, copy forum member name and Paste Special it in

About every week or so, I copy the data (two times) from the spreadsheet and paste it here to upload it.

I’m back, sorry was busy for the holidays. I feel like I can add to this conversation, but also being a creator I feel like if I express my opinion then people may take this as I am trying to keep other channels off the list.
So yea, this is a hard question. Should I add my thoughts or not?

On the other hand I will speak on 3D printers, and I guess this goes into a general topic of everything can be electronics, but their maybe should be sub categories or a more defined definition of the list.
I feel like I can say 3D printer are a separate topic being one of the people that was heavily involved with the CoreXY printer design after Makerbot was bought out by Stratasys. This took away the most popular open source design on the market.
Also, I should note I have another channel that is for 3D printing, so even I keep these separate.
https://www.youtube.com/user/MrScottJD (https://www.youtube.com/user/MrScottJD)
UPDATE: As I reviewed Cliffs comments on 3D printers, I realized my 3D printer channel does fit the list definition of maintenance, upgrades, steppers and stuff. But please DO NOT add this one to the list.

I stopped printing and stop building printers when I fell ill, it can be a fire hazard if you can not stay awake for the whole print that’s 1 to 12 hours, or longer. So you will see I still support the channel, answer questions but don’t post any new videos and never posted my CoreXY builds. I f I kept it up I’m sure it would be bigger then my Gadget channel by now. I even have a different channel of random, RC Cars, 116yr old edison phonograph that I fixed and restored, antiques that I sometimes work on like old clocks. But they are all separate channels for a reason. If the Edison phonograph was electronic then maybe I would put some of those videos on the Gadget channel (despite using the same governor design in some modern car transmissions today and makes you wonder how much has really changed over a 100 years?)

So yes, a lot of things can be considered electronics, but maybe should be more specific like 3D printers. Even car mechanics use DMM’s, oscilloscopes and other equiptment like a electronic hobbyist , but that doesn’t mean they should be on the list as well.

Even at my own admission my channel isn’t all electronics and has a mix of reviews, I try to keep them Gadget electronic reviews. I’m working on more lithium battery stuff and built a separate bench for this in a cold basement for safety reason, but isn’t the best video or audio with a furnace running. A car camera dash Review coming up, but the difference is I want to tear it down also with batteries in car cams that don’t like the heat or cold. This one uses a 5.4V super cap to finish writing the footer of the last video file before shutting off.
And I need to get back to more tear downs and repairs, maybe review the Gadget in one video, then tear it down in another? But I don’t buy stuff just for the channel, I buy it for me and just happen to do reviews on things I use and would recommend. Becuase my channel started with me taking the  electronics hobby to the next level and buying new stuff, building a lab, and reviewing this equiptment, youtube has thrown my channel in with big clive, eevblog, and others as a recommended channel despite the name of the channel.

So my channel is a slight mix, but these days to run a channel with just one topic, one category would be hard to keep making new content unless your recording your work day of electronics repair and already do it 40 hours a week. Without some variety the channel would be the same thing over and over and people might get board of that. I think it’s safe to say that maybe even Dave has a hard time now with over 1,000 of videos not repeating content that he has already done.

My first reaction is one of concern - that you might be heading into an overload condition.  Having said that, though, I can only applaud your efforts.

We can certainly put together a new worksheet setup for this - which can be either additional sheets in the current workbook (which keeps it all together), or a new workbook altogether (which keeps the different information separated, avoiding confusion).  I'll let you mull over that.

I will also let you spend a little more time putting data together, in case you want to change the columns at all.  This will also be an opportunity for any other ideas people might want to put forward (plus I have some catch-up on a few things that suffered over the Christmas break).

I noticed, too, that there are some entries that look like they have several links on different lines.  If this is how you envisage the data being presented, then I will need to know - but if it is just a temporary state while the data is being collated, then that's fine.

It can be done.  We just need to define the "how".

What do you think about deleting YTers that do not have a Playlist?  There are a few of them.

Is not having a playlist grounds for removal?

My concern would be some good material is excluded based on a metric that has no direct relationship with the quality of the content.... or is there some correlation of which I am not aware?

I wondered the same. I don’t domoaylosts, but I think I have one. I’m not even sure. I spend enough time editing and posting videos to manage different playlist would add to the time spent on something I do as part of my hobby. It’s not like I get paid or I’m sponsored in any way, I’m usually trying to find way to save time on editing so I can produce more content. I don’t want to add to the time this already takes to manage playlists also.
Thanks,
Scott

The only thing Playlists do is help the viewers, unfortunately it takes time for the YTer.  Sometimes I feel that if the poster does not give a shit about their viewer, I do not give a shit about them or their video.  Sometimes I do not think (a problem of ageing).  :-DD

Understood on the not thinking part, ageing and exhaustion for me.
It’s not that I don’t care, I reply to every comment, or most at least above 97% I think. Even have done Skype calls around the world helping people fix their microscopes and stuff. It’s one of the reasons I do the channel to meet and help people when I can. Someday I’ll sort them out into playlists, but it doesn’t mean the creator doesn’t care if they don’t have them. If I do a video series on one topic over 6 videos then I would do a playlist for that series. But I don’t think I’ve done a series yet.
The real time is in the editing, I wish I could hire someone to do that part but they would also need to understand the point of the video to be able to edit it. I have 6 videos that could go live if I don’t edit them, but then again they are all 50 minutes to over an hour long and no one wants to watch that much of me babbling on.  :-DD

Someday I’ll sort them out into playlists, but it doesn’t mean the creator doesn’t care if they don’t have them.
This illustrates my point.

Interpreting a lack of a playlist as a lack of interest in their audience is not well reasoned.  If the creator was that indifferent, they wouldn't care about producing decent material.

Member TonyG's channel tgsoapbox has changed in the last year (majority of content is test equipment repair).
He has submitted a playlist on another thread:
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/blog/announcement-guest-videos-request/msg1403654/#msg1403654 (https://www.eevblog.com/forum/blog/announcement-guest-videos-request/msg1403654/#msg1403654)
We have his channel description as "Personal projects in the IoT space" but it should be "test equipmet teardown and repair"

Note: His content is so good that it's a pity he's still under 1k subs (so I guess YT will cut any revenue for all his hard work..  >:( )

If it's ok, the description of my channel (Brian Lough) is misc, but something like Arduino would probably be closer to what it was.

I think I had some live streams recording of a making a guitar pedal when I first added the channel here, I've since tidied it up to reflect my usual content

Thanks

Hi, so presented for your consideration...

I'm Ido Gendel, my Youtube channel is "The White Byte" at https://www.youtube.com/user/idogendel/ (https://www.youtube.com/user/idogendel/) and I think it's definitely a "Misc"  :) (Arduino, Maker stuff, tutorials, some MCUs, silly experiments etc.)
Currently it has ~1570 subscribers.

It used to be my channel for videos in the Hebrew language, but now it's mixed with English videos, and I'm making sure the titles and playlists reflect the video language. So, does that count?

Thanks,

Is this what you were after...?   (sample only)

Looks good !  Did you sort the main list?  I will not do anything except enter data and copy data.

Thanks

I didn't change anything except for the forum code worksheet.

You should be able to add, delete, insert and sort rows in the input data without any risk to the forum code result.  (That is the reason I went with the crazy formula.)  Just don't shuffle the columns around.  (If you do want a column change, then I'll need to sort that for you.)

Thanks for your suggestion
That is the channel name (Electronics repair School)

His methods might have some people cringe though.

I'm a fairly ignorant Noob and enjoy watching his stuff. I've definitely learned from him.

I sort of understand his view ito time and price point, but man, as a paying customer, some of those repair solutions would leave me upset.

I'm sure it is not a new concept, but I saw for the first time that power was introduced to check for shorts. Previously I would thought that if I suspected a short, I would not bring power close to a board, till I somehow could find the culprit.

Now I wish I have one of those power supplies where you can limit current or where the current draw on a circuit is shown when power is introduced.

I assume you can still check the current draw using other methods, although I haven't figured out how.

The point is, his method of working and thinking has opened up my mind and that everything doesn't necessarily have to be 100% to test a circuit. It is okay to remove a capacitor or resistor or even mosfets or short something in certain circumstances.

The trick is probably to know when you can take those chances.

You were on the original list. Your channel has interesting content, been watching for quite a while now.

Make some playlists and add them to your channel, their script bots will discover your channel and automatically mark you for approval in the new list.

Just kidding, they do all this manually, but it's really fun seeing how complicated a list can get. I was not kidding about making playlists, you need to do that. ;D

Hi

Added you to the Repair List (List B) because you have a scope Playlist.  Since you have so many videos I suggest you try and get them into 8 Playlists.  Because when someone goes to your Playlist, they can see 8 of them.  Any more then they have to scroll.  If not 8, then try 12, etc.  But try real hard for 8.

The reason you were not on the list is because you have so many videos, I figured someone could search YT easier.  It is really hard for someone to go through your videos when they are in one list.

If you have trouble, maybe you could ask for help here.

FYI I have rejected some people because they put all their videos in one playlist and someone once put one video in each playlist.

Hi

First major change I made was to delete member names because of complaints.  The list was getting too big, the bigger it got, the fewer the views.   It was over 350 and I decided to get it to two - 100 lists.  So I had to delete about half.  Playlist was just one method I used.   I cannot remember why I deleted you but if you have not made any changes, it might be because you put too many videos in one playlist.  This was one method that I used to delete.

I added you back in but you might want to re-organize your playlists.  You have too many in this one: "Recent Videos (That are not Live Streams)".  One video is dated Jan 2017.  I do not think 16 months is recent.

My favorite method is when someone uses 8 playlists because that is how many someone sees without scrolling.

Since you seem serious you might want to consider some bookkeeping.  Study the way Dave names his videos and watermarks them.  I am always amazed how bad people organize and name their videos.  Your videos might end up on other Playlists.  You should be able to tell it is your video just by the name.  Then you should  be able to tell by looking at your video (watermark).

This smells as Dave says.

Years ago I was recording many electronics, car, boiler, broadcast engineering, and hackerspace incubation.

Every time I look into Youtube, it gets more complicated. Plus i want my stuff in public domain, but in USA you are defaulted to copyright. we lost our freedom of speech in October 2003

This thread is a highly useful place to discuss found Youtube (and similar) resources and get them onto the list kindly maintained by ez24 and brumby. Please do not try to turn it into a thread discussing your misunderstanding(s) of copyright law. If you really want to do the latter, start your own thread, please do not pollute this one.

I just started, very rough, only a smartphone, slowly learning presentation and editing.
If I enjoy it I plan on making useful videos , project logs, and tutorials, for now its bad lighting/audio and mumbled waffling... but I think I have something to share and want to give back.

10 vids
10 subs

Some mailbag and electronics stuff, I might add non electronics but unlikely.

That works.. but think about how fast it's going to scroll out of view and for whatever reason, how people are lazy enough they don't go much past the 2nd or 3rd page..

Also, moderators may tire of seeing "Electronics and tech related videos" as a thread title too often (and more work for you too).

I agree.  I will gather facts and ask Simon to make it a sticky on the beginner page.  My List C came from this Sticky on the Beginners Page

https://www.eevblog.com/forum/beginners/electronics-primers-course-material-and-books/msg28589/#msg28589 (https://www.eevblog.com/forum/beginners/electronics-primers-course-material-and-books/msg28589/#msg28589)

Since List C is based on this, I asked Chasm if they would insert a link to List C and I never heard back from Chasm

I totally agree that the lists would be more helpful if on the Beginners Page.

I haven't noticed her using any bad words. If she did, it was once in a while that is easy to miss. Definitely not like AvE or Big Clive where you can't miss the use of harsh vocabulary. (Those sorts of videos, if they contain electronics related content, should stay but it would be good to include language warnings.)

She has a weird accent (or the audio is really poor quality - reminds me of an analog landline) but the network controlled HDMI switch is pretty cool.

Random Recommended Youtuber No new content for 2 years but it's all about the Noise and EMI issues. Clearly explained and worth a watch of the videos.

It looks like the website https://www.wisewarthog.com/ (https://www.wisewarthog.com/) isn't working anymore :(. Did anybody maybe saved the links from that website? It had some really great resources. I am specifically looking for the link to a website that had examples of job interview questions for analog engineers. Please let me know. Thanks :)
