What is the best solution for file hosting?

I'm starting up my own blog. Electronics and Programming Beginners Guide www.eapbg.com
 My site is being hosted on wordpress.com that's where i first started it.  I bought my own domain name and did all of the mapping and what not.
I was wondering what is the best solution for file hosting? I plan to add design files, gerber files and high res images for my projects projects.

Wordpress gives me 3Gbs of space and i can upgrade later to 13Gbs. Is that sufficient to get started? What would my upgrade options be if i didn't want to stay with wordpress or if i hosted just my files somewhere else?

You can use Amazon S3, or dropbox (depending on your traffic).

Syncplicity gives you 10 Gb, and if you share files with others who have syncplicity, together you share the total sum of space. And its free...

I ended up going with Amazon S3 service. Although it only gives 5gigs for free i think it's the most flexible service, meaning that when i need more i just step up into a paid tier.

S3 is flexible, but you've just traded away near term convenience of having one place to upload your files and being able to do everything inside of the Wordpress editor for the promise of convenience in the future...

Github (or other repository host). You can share projects easily, add improved versions, releases and people can fork and such. Especially essential when doing a Programming blog imho.
Some might operate under FUP, I'm note sure, read their terms.

Also, git is a very powerful tool. If you don't know git yet, go explore it.

Just use any $5/month shared web hosting service. They usually have unlimited space and all the bells and whistles needed for a proper wordpress site.
I ran my site (in fact half a dozen sites) and this forum on a cheap shared host for many years.

Even a dedicated server doesn't cost much these days......but yes, a shared hosting service is more than good enough to start with and will in fact take quite a while before you outgrow it.....if at all!

I have a dedicated server (Windows) from 1and1.co.uk (they are international). I went dedicated rather than shared just "because".
