That was the way this current thread came into being - when it became necessary to reserve the first few posts to allow for the ever growing mountain of information to be broken up in order to fit within the character limit for a post (which had already been increased by Dave to accommodate the first thread).

Such a process allows the ownership to change without anything more involvement from mods than changing a sticky.

If you start a new thread - don't just have the first post. Take the next 3 or 4 as well.

You don't have to put anything more than a single character in them at the start, but they will be there for future expansion when needed.  This has been the experience of the past - and you can't insert posts at the start once someone else has posted.

Just started a brand new channel focussing on various electronics, I'm still in the process of building my lab, but started uploading videos unboxing my uncle's hoard of eletronics which was sent due to his diminishing health. Lots of interesting goodies coming over the following days/weeks...

A YouTube channel I recently stumbled across has a lot of good info for beginners, has a whole section on the basics.

The channel seems to be aimed at teaching how to diagnose faults on motherboards and graphics cards, but other good info on there.

I am a radio amateur who probably has the best channel for electronics. I show a lot of what I repair on the channel, along the way talking about how to solder, how to choose a good solder, and give advice for a beginner radio amateur.

But the repair of equipment is not very interesting to me, I like to develop electronics more. I really like to design the circuit of the device myself, after tracing the printed circuit board, write a program for the microcontroller, assemble the layout, run it, and then debug it for a long time. This is a very exciting and interesting process for me.

Almost all electronics tools I buy in China. I also take many components there. I show them on the channel, even if they are not of high quality, I hope this helps.
