A rant about lack of support on open source software, or anything else actually
dietert1:
Trying to educate trolls is a waste of time as their whole existence is about sabotage.
The competition i see is between trolls and people interested in advancing open source software projects. Those are two distinct groups. That's what i meant by selection. Also i don't follow at all the idea that money makes people do the right thing.

Er, nope. Random generation and selection just leads to random outcomes. I think you mean random generation, and focussed selection. One side or the other needs to be a good filter for anything but randomness to emerge. They are essentially equivalent.

Yes, that could be commaed, "random generation, then selection"; it's also apparent from the subsequent paragraphs.
