Title: Communication between iOS App and linux IOT device ?
Post by: CookieMonster on January 01, 2022, 04:56:19 pm
Hi,

i'm looking for some reading material on the subject of iOS apps to communicate with linux based embedded (IOT) devices.

I have found some material that explains how to use websockets for this purpose, but i'm looking for more comprehensive examples, eg. on how to find devices automatically on the network.
All examples i've found so far are either hardcoding or prompting for the host url.

It would be great if anyone could give me some pointers, articles or example projects to take a look at.

Thanks!

Look for things on "Bonjour", "Multicast DNS" (MDNS), and "Service Location Protocol" (SLP).
