Title: Niklaus Wirth passed away on January 1st, 2024

Another great person is gone. In case you 've never heard of him: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niklaus_Wirth. He was the father of Pascal and Modula. And there's also Wirth's law: software is getting slower more rapidly than hardware is becoming faster (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wirth's_law).
