New GitHub Copilot Research Finds 'Downward Pressure on Code Quality' - https://visualstudiomagazine.com/articles/2024/01/25/copilot-research.aspx

Related to this, I've noticed that ChatGPT4 is almost point blank refusing to output full code that can be copied and pasted into an editor, it always adds in things like #remaining functions to go here or #function logic here.
I suspect this is to drive customers to copilot.

We weren't expecting that.

Programmers were already a lazy bunch, and with copilot it will get even worse.
I bet most of them won't even know what it wrote sometimes.
Doing a bit of C# and the suggestions in visual studio are already weird sometimes. There is so much bloat in the languare you need an llm to help you find the "most recent" feature that isn't deprecated in the woods of different places where the functions and libraries are documented.
