Onsemi restarted production of FDD4141 P-MOSFET?
« on: May 05, 2024, 08:12:07 am »
One product I designed used FDD4141 P-MOSFET from Onsemi, but it got EOL notification in 2022:

It was listed as Last Time Buy on Onsemi website about a year ago:

But today I noticed the transistor is back in Active status:

Big e-shops like Mouser and Digikey list it as Active too, Farnell says it's EOL, but has many thousand fresh units in stock. Of course, I found several suitable replacements back then, so I'm just curious: how often semiconductor companies restart production of a component? I've never heard of that before. Or maybe the Active status on Onsemi's website is just a mistake?

There is a "Product reactivation notice" there.

"Reactivated product." You learn something new every day. How long usually such "reactivated" semiconductors last?
