XP cannot find start address - NETAPI32 problem??? solved

XP machine throws a error message on boot, right before displaying the desktop.
Approximate translation to english: "Cannot find procedure start address NetGetDCName in DLL file NETAPI32.dll"

After pressing OK on the error message: Blue screen of death

Strange  if its network related   windows should be able to boot ??

windows version,  machine model ?

Machine and OS:
HP Compaq dx2200M with Intel Celeron 3,2GHz from year 2007
Windows XP pro SP2, Build 2600

[HighVoltage]

Boot from the XP installation CD and select repair.
This helped me on a similar problem before.

if possible  you can disable the nic/lan card in the bios  and see if windows continue to boot ?

After various failed attempts a reinstall resolved it.
