Any suggestions for a 4 or 5 pin plug/receptacle:

This is for a control cable between a control panel and a machine. Indoor, no requirement for water or fluids etc.

Safe
Low cost
Some sort of lock so it won't fallout if vertical mounted
300V (one pair 240Vac, one pair 120Vac,  5A minimum
Chassis mount and free hanging for cable

Any 0.156" rectangular header will do the job e.g. Molex KK or SPOX.  Friction ramp holds in place.  A zillion others (clones and otherwise) by every manufacturer.

For easier wiring, Eurostyle pluggable terminal strips.

Please do not use standard connector for non-standard usage. Especially when 240Vac and 16A are potentially involved.

You can go with the usual standard round cannon connector. But wiring those is a hassle.
If space constraints allow perhaps looking into Harting HAN 4 A or something similar.

If you stayed in ELV range you could have used something from Neutrik, those are high quality.

Or something less robust you can take locking Phoenix MSTB and put the KGG housing around it.

Pluggable terminals. Phoenix Contact, TE, Wurth etc... Plenty of generic and knock off versions on Ali, ebay etc.
They are rugged and field rewirable. I love em.
