PCB inductor with magnetic cores
« on: February 16, 2021, 04:44:33 pm »
As the title suggests, due to design requirements, I would need to build a PCB inductor with a magnetic core embedded. That being said, how do I really specify an area is designated for the magnetic core and what material I want for it?. Im using EAGLE PCB.

Is this for one small area of a larger board you wish to designate? When you say material, so you mean PCB material or magnetic core material?

As far as PCB layout logistics, you just need to define the appropriate cutout regions and any additional hardware mounting holes for the planar core and manually draw your "turns" in, you can do this as a "component" or just fully manually.. defining a component can be easier for placement and preventing accidentally deletion of part of the turns
