Title: A safe, collapsible mount?

Hi,

I have a gadget - roughly the size and shape of a smartphone - that I want to mount to my stand-up jet ski. It needs to be held perpendicular to the jet ski's handle bars, but if I impact it, I want it to fold down. So I'm thinking of some sort of spring-loaded mechanism.

I'm not even sure what to google for. Any ideas?
