In this video I make measurements of the (RØDE) Rode Filmmaker wireless microphone system.  The measurements completely define the input circuitry and system gain.  Then I design a simple preamplifier to adapt a dynamic microphone to the filmmaker.  I go over the design process for the preamplifier and explain how it works.  I use the IV curves of the JFET and graphically solve for the quiescent point of the preamplifier.  In the end I do a comparison between the electret condenser microphone that comes with the filmmaker kit and an adapted Sony F-27 cardioid dynamic microphone.
