Uni-T UT210E/211B as current probe?
« on: June 08, 2021, 04:54:49 am »
Many of us have a scope current probe and don’t know it: the Uni-T UT210E (and it’s better DC-current-resolution cousin the UT211B).

I wonder why someone here hasn’t already lead the way to hack this and add a BNC output.

Anyone care to share their hack details?

This may be useful for you:

The extra resolution of the UT211B is of little relevance if you want to use it as a current probe, it may even be worse if the additional resolution required the hall sensor signal conditioning to have a lower bandwidth.  FWIW the UT210 only has a bandwidth of around 5kHz, but it can be increased:

It’s not. Joe stops short of the details, showing just the broad strokes. Tantalizing, yes.

This post may help regarding improvement of the UT210E by optimising the gain/bandwidth of the existing opamps. I don't know if the same circuit configuration applies to the UT211B...

Yes, in the video Joe didn't explain how to do that improvement.
