Help finding Device connector for vertical installation sth like C14 or C7

Yo folks,

So have some old technology here, vintage old school active hi-fi speakers. Some revisions have a smaller device connector hole, it turns out.
I modded older revisions of them and threw away the C10 from the 1970s because a C10 connector

1. is not at all universal and if you lose the cable you're screwed
2. the freaking cable costs me at least 3 times the price of a normal C13 cable with a length of 2 meters.

I wanted to enlarge the mounting hole only a few mm / inch, but the metal back plate is 3 mm or 0,11811 inch thick! I think my dremel is too weak for this, and I don't want to mess it up an angle grinder, of course this wouldn't work anyway because an angle grinder is not meant for such small dimensions...

C14 just doesn't fit, I tried to file some ABS plastic away from a C14 connector and finally I went through the damn thing, so this won't work either.

Any other ideas?

How about C7, C8  or the C5, C6 sockets. Should be easy to get one that will either clip into the opening, or which can be made to fit with a bit of the correct gap filling epoxy yo make up the right dimensions. The C5, C6 is likely to be a drop in part, as the spacings of the pins is the same, and they should be easy to get as well.

Thanks for the suggestions. Would rather not like to use eproxy to keep it as original as possible. But if there's no other way maybe I will.
Looking at it now I think C6 would fit most likly, and will also be up to the task because the speakers can use up to unknown watts from the wall. The original connector is rated up to 6 amps @ 250volts. Most C6 cables I see are used for laptop power adapters which go up to maybe 4 amps max (what I have seen so far). My laptap adapter has a C14 and is rated for up to 9.5 amps. I think the limit of C14 was 10 amps?

According to this website it is only 2.5a internationally, so that is not enough because it has a 6a socket in it.
Hmmm  I don't know what to do I'm almost at the point of f*ck it I'll buy the special cable..
