Setting up KiCad gerbers

Hi.

I want to get into proper pcb design, and have pcb-s manufactured not only homebrew.
I used to use eagle, but being limited in the free version I gave up since I often need more area.
Now I decided to give a try to KiCad, but now I have another problem.
Pcb manufacturers tend to give design rule files for eagle, and me being still a newbie when it come to that i have no idea how those rules actually work with pcb editors.

So how do I set up KiCad so that I can generate gerbers that would work for something like Electrow or imall?

Elecrow is very good about telling you were you messed up.

 But basically you want to setup a reasonable clearances .20 mm minimum trace and clearance will put you near the 8mils range they specify. That is what they recommend on elecrow and before you produce the gerbers you want to hit the DRC button to make sure you didn't miss something.

If i recall correctly kicads defualt setup is .251mm so it shoudl be good out of the box.


Also the silkscreen text is always smaller than you think it is make it larger as you can:)
