Any good MOSFET tester schematic?
« on: October 17, 2011, 04:12:07 pm »
I am looking for a good MOSFET tester schematic that test simply GO-NOGO and leakage.

This is for good friend of mine who started learning electronics.

Hi,

For a simple go/no go test, I usually just hook the drain and source up to a bench power supply with a lamp in series. Touch the gate with one hand, and the positive terminal of the PSU with the other (assuming N-channel), and the lamp should go on, now touch the negative terminal and it should go off again. While this is a fairly crude test, in my experience MOSFETS usually either work or they don't - you don't really need to know any more.

Make sure that you take appropriate antistatic precautions with the above test.

Hope this helps,

John
