uCurrent multimeter 2mm tip compatible mod

Hi all,

This is my humble contribution to the eevblog community.

I only use my multimeter leads with the uCurrent. I constantly find myself getting frustrated with the loose multimeter leads falling off the holes of the banana sockets so I wanted something that is secure mechanically and electrically. So I rummaged through my parts and found these 2mm sockets and they pop right into the existing holes. Most multimeter tips are 2mm so this should be pretty good and hopefully they don't wear out the surface of the tips quickly.

Just remove the existing banana sockets and replace with these 2mm sockets, then solder a wire to the pcb trace. This mod saved my day!

You can find thenm very cheap at electronic parts store. Look for "2mm sockets".

Very good idea, most will have the standard multimeter leads almost permanently attached to the meter.

Sharing my different approaches when using my ucurrent.

1st pic, using cheap banana connectors for audio speaker since it has the crimp to hold the probe's tips firmly & steady.

2nd, Banana to BNC connector when using logger or scope.
