Schematic:
Instead of either making an isolated converter or two different converters, I came up with the idea of combining the buck-boost with a flyback converter. Would this work in practice?

Yeah that's a flybuck. I didn't check if you had the dots correct, but it doesn't look like you hooked up the controller correctly though.

Essentially the same circuit I found at TI. I am experimenting with making a board that will take a typical 18-20V laptop "line-lump" power input, and generate + and - 15VDC for audio circuits.
