| Battery spot welding strip advice. |
| (1/1) |
| drummerdimitri:
So I am looking to start spot welding 18650 batteries for some project and have no idea if there is a standard width and thickness for 18650 battery strips. I've seen widths from 4 to 10 mm and thicknesses from 0.04 mm to 0.3 mm. Will be buying a 10 m roll for future use and found a source of pure nickel strips instead of mostly nickel plated steel found on the market. There is no harm in going for a thicker strip right? Just a cost and weight penalty? What do you recommend? |

Thicker requires a more powerful spot welder. Wider is OK. But you generally do not want to go wider than the battery ends. The smaller stuff is easier to work with because it deforms pretty easily. Just sometimes harder to line up the welder |
