Choosing the right controller for BLDC motor
« on: February 14, 2020, 05:37:33 pm »
Hello!

I am currently working on a project that requires a motor to be driven at a very constant speed that can quickly react to changes in load and adjust accordingly.

Naturally, i've turned to a BLDC motor, one in a NEMA enclosure that will also have an encoder attached to it.

Now, i have to implement into the board directly a BLDC driver for this motor, but i am not sure what IC to use as i never designed boards with BLDC drivers on them, also i'd need it to be controlled via I2C or SPI since it would be simpler to code for as the controller for the driver will be a Atmega328P since i want to offload these tasks off my main processor.

What would be your recommendation for such an application?
