Bluetooth LE device FCC pretesting
(1/1)
beefplease:
Hey, I made bluetooth low energy device with FCC/CE certified bluetooth module and I am planning get FCC for whole device. Firstly I want to do emission pretesting to make sure non of the sensors or DC/DC are too "loud". The deal is device consists of few very different modes like "advertising" which is basically power off with few wake ups and real time data transfer while connected to smartphone which of course increases current consumption as well as DC/DC frequency on board. But I cannot find any information how to test emission in this case, I believe I will disturb readings by having smartphone around and I am not sure if I need to test all the modes or just the most power hungry one. Lab doing these pretests is also not helping, they are just doing the measurements and don't care. Any hint would be appreciated.

Fire them and work with a competent test lab. The ones I've worked with on this kind of thing have always been helpful with suggestions, tweaks, knowledge about standards, proposing design changes etc.
I cannot recommend any in Lithuania, but I've had very good experience with CEcert GmbH in Wismar, which is still on the Baltic Coast :)
(No affiliation BTW).
