What is this DC plug/Where can I get one?
« on: May 25, 2015, 03:19:22 am »
Hi all,

I am looking for a part number or supplier for this DC plug. It is from a Panasonic Toughbook model CF-52 laptop.

Here are some measurements.

I have looked on Digikey and Element14 with no success.

The reason that I need one is I bought a 12v step up laptop power supply so I could charge it in a vehicle but none of the plugs that came with it fit. (Nor do any of the couple dozen in my parts drawer.)

One thing to note is the step in the plastic molding, that fits into the housing of the laptop for extra strength.

If I cant buy the plug by itself then my only option is to buy a complete second hand power supply (for ~$100) and cut the plug off it.

Thanks, Timothy.
ooooohh... what does this button do???

I would check the ID again carefully, since 5.5/2.1 barrel jacks are one of the common sizes.

The yellow tipped barrel plugs are actually EIAJ standard plugs with set voltage ranges per size. Most stuff from Japan conforms to it.
