banana jacks with missing contacts?

I got a assortment from pomona on digikey and they gave me some banana cables that don't have the spring leafs on them.

Is this something special? Did they just forget to install it?

Mad shoddy QC for the premium price. Its just like a metal pin with the spring loaded safety cover on it. 

I don't think I am the first one noticing problems with them. I guess too many people said their good so now they are gonna start robbing us

I wonder if they have a hand held DMM with binding posts on it. instead of these nanny meters.
