OK after watching the EEVblog videos over the last few weeks and feeling good that I understand some 30% of what is said and not fully clueless on the rest, I feel after 20 years of not doing electronics it might be fun to play around a bit, so the mother of all invention being necessity, my necessity was to be able to test a remote control, to see if it was working, the pcb is not easy to follow as its a chip with some gunk on and a bunch of buttons. I had a spare CCTV camer hanging about and plugged it into my TV and shot the suspect remote and could see the IR output, so the remote is fine, its just the portable DVD player thats messed up :(. So i have a screen that works and a camera that works, I dont need the DVD player but it might be fun to have a night vision scope, I just need to get them both talking to each other.
My first problem is that I have a video output and a screen, the screen needs to get the output, so i am guessing that i need some sort of video chip to take the video output from the camera to the screen, so my question after all that is, what should I be looking at
