I need this cable to finish the installation of a project I'm working on in a fairly tight enclosure. Found plenty of 50cm long left angle Mini-USB to straight USB Type A, and right angle Mini USB to left angle Type A, and 1m long right angle Mini USB to straight Type A, etc, etc. Happy to solder the Type A, but can't even find right (or left) angled Type A solderable males! Anyone seen such a beast?

Picture to illustrate the problem. The Pi and the 5V DC/DC haven't been fixed into place yet, so there is some flexibility, but this is roughly how the layout needs to look. (Missing USB cable shown in green)

Here you go:

This USB plug can't be inserted wrong.
Mini B with angled A they dont seem to offer, but nothing a few adapters can't fix.

Just ask if you need translations.

Thanks, but I'm already closer with right angled Mini USB to straight Type A. Also, length is 1 metre, which would necessitate rolling and stashing ~65cm of cable. Madness. Though the reversible plug design is pretty clever - always wondered why USB wasn't designed like that in the first place; sod's law dictates the way you try to plug in is always the wrong one. Or, as tends to happen to me, it feels like you've got it the wrong way around at first attempt, turn it around and struggle for a while, only to realise it was right the first time. God I hate USB.

Edit: I think my best hope is to find a right angle solderable USB Type A male plug. That way I can just buy whatever right angle Mini USB cable and cut it to exactly the right length.

Ok, I give up, wasted hours searching for stuff that only exists in my imagination. No-one makes a right-angle Mini USB to right-angle USB Type A male in a length between 35 and 50cm. Nor have I been able to find solderable 90 degree Type A male plugs. Instead I have moved the 5V DC/DC converter out of the way, which will allow straight Type A connectors to plug into the Pi, and have bought a 50cm Lindy left-angle Mini USB to straight Type A. This should be a good fit if I route the cable the other way around.

Edit: Yes, I know they call it a "right" angled plug, but inspect it closely and you'll see it will point to the left when inserted in a Mini USB jack at normal orientation. That is if the photo is accurate. Time will tell...

"Right angle" refers to it being a 90° angle, aka a right angle, as opposed to straight. It doesn't refer to the direction.

0.5 meter right angle mini B + reversible type A angle adapter.

These reversible plugs aren't that common because it takes quite some force to insert them, does not feel right. The center piece of the male part needs to move up/down.

Yeah, I know, it's confusing. A "left angled" plug would point to the left when inserted, whereas a "right angled" plug could point either way, depending on whether whoever wrote it means only that it has a 90 degree bend in it, or that the bend actually points to the right. Photos essential here, but even then one cannot be 100% sure what will turn up in the mail...
