A few of us at the local hackspace have got our hands on a Burleigh Instructional Scanning Tunnelling Microscope. Why? Just because; there doesn't need to be a why :) It looks in good nick, and we are slowly finding our way around it, but don't want to rush in like bulls in a china shop and unnecessarily knacker it. We are hampered by some missing information. So far we have googled around and found some documents that give tantalising hints, especially one short "cheat sheet" and some that think the company is "Burly"! We would be grateful if anybody could point us towards: * an actual manual, paper or electronic * useful techniques when cutting new tips The specific device is shown in the images below, but anything from the Burleigh company would be of interest. Thanks |

Afraid I don't have any data, and it's been a lot of years under the bridge, but I worked at Burleigh and did some of the design work on those things! Feel free to PM me with questions and mysteries. |
