What do with a bunch of TPA3122?
« on: December 22, 2014, 09:46:04 pm »
So, I ordered a couple of TPA3122 Class-D amplifier ICs, but somehow managed to end up with two *tubes* of them!  Is there anything uses I can do with a whole bunch of these things?

Each channel is a self-oscillating half bridge.

That may broaden your imagination a little.

I once order a set of screws from RS Components and started receiving boxes and boxes of screws instead of just a single set. The operator had typed the Part Number into the quantity field. We still had several hundred thousand on back order!
Sorry doesn't help you, but your predicament reminded me of the incident.

I guess it is better to sell them here/on ebay or give them away at postage cost rather than figure out why you would want to keep them.

Contact thge supplier and offer to return the ones you didn't order, if they pay the postage?

I forgot all about those chips.. Build a bunch of little powered speakers for people. With all the 50 watt 24 volt brick power supplies out there dirt cheap one of those chips, a little box, and a handful of components makes the perfect little amplifier. Use an old pair of bookshelf speakers and you are in business! Also there are many little Bluetooth receiver dev kits out there. That would be a great combination and for a very small cost in mostly used components you would have a Bluetooth speaker system that rivals the overpriced junk at the stores I have been seeing lately.
