wow I forgot about that tread, I've seen it before just forgot about it!

I guess you could replace the JEFTs with the more common J201, especially if you want it to work properly at lower voltages. You will probably have to adjust many of the resistors' values though.
LTSpice has a model for it, so you can start simulating a bit before building the preamp.
