I've conducted a number of experiments with the panel already in low light conditions (a 29W halogen bulb from approximately 1m distance) and produced ~30uA of current. In full sunlight outside, however, I've gotten it to produce maybe a couple of miliamps, but I haven't had any sunshine intense enough where I live to get the full power that this panel is rated for. With indirect light in the shade on the north facing side of the house, I produced anywhere from 10uA to a couple hundred microamps depending on how I orient it. In the final product I will most likely have the solar panel optimally oriented in the direction that gets the highest average outdoor light.
I am using this single cell that I linked above. As for the blocking diode I am using a BAT41 Schottky Diode. I slowly have been gathering parts from Digikey and experimenting as I go.
