| Capacitor Dominatrix |

I think this would be useful for me. Is a cap charged, is it safe? A series of resisters with each leg going parallel resisters. Perhaps an LED indicator. This would help me moving forward in diagnostics safely. I assume a multimeter would do something very similar. In that case, more training!!!! Thoughts? |

Why not hire an underling to count the electrons in and out? Y'know with one of those clicker counters like bouncers used to use on nightclubs when I were young and all this were fields as far as the eye could see. (I'm not really sure what you are asking.) |

I'm not sure many capacitors could really appreciate a good dominatrix :-DD You're looking for a device to discharge capacitors? A metal probe with an insulated handle and a 100k+ resistor in series to ground should do a pretty good job, but most of the time it's best practice to include bleeder resistors in your design to discharge them safely in a few seconds after power-down, and for all but really large capacitor banks, that can be done with fairly high value resistors and minimal lost power. Something like a multimeter's low impedance mode (if it has it) can also be used to quickly discharge caps safely. |

I didn't know there was such a thing as S&M electronics. :-DD |

It only works for leather or latex capacitors. In a pinch also with rubber types. Also be aware that if it's done correctly, it can be painful. |
