Vintage Bell Canada\ Northern Electric ICs QGA6A, QGA2B
« on: March 09, 2017, 01:41:52 am »
I recently found some vintage ICs that I think were made by Bell Canada or Northern Electric, since they have what appear to be Northern Electric part prefixes on them. The ICs are marked QGA6A, QGA2B. They all have a gold plated top and bottom, and a white ceramic substrate in between. I know QG is a Northern Electric prefix of some kind, but I'm not sure what it designates. I am wondering if these devices had Western Electric equivalents or part codes, since there were close ties between Northern and Western Electric. However, a family of old Western Electric IC data books I have from the late 1970s doesn't list any devices with a QG prefix.
Any ideas on what these devices are?

This would be probably a good time to ask, should we have a new board for people to ask about obscure and unknown semiconductors? :)
