| Capturing intermittent AC line dropouts/glitch using SIGLENT SDS1102X |

I have a problem where something is triggering my 120VAC 60Hz UPS system to run very briefly (1 to 2 seconds max). I've been unable to identify that any appliance/HVAC/Refrigerator running coincides with the trigger. It could be the AC dropping out, or noise on the AC signal. I even replaced the circuit breaker in the panel. It might not do it again for 5 minutes, or 5 hours, so unattended operation is needed. I'd like to utilize the SIGLENT SDS1102X to trigger on whatever anomaly that could be causing the UPS unit to trigger. I'm not sure how to set the scope to do this... I'm a bit new to all the advanced triggering modes available) Thanks in advance. |

The frequency of such an event makes this tricky. Have a look at setting a Pass/Fail mask and the RTC on board it should give some indication of when it occurs. If you set it up to Stop you can see the event and that will give clues how to set a trigger for it so you can then attempt to correlate it to a cause. You can find the Pass/Fail menu in Utilities. Here's what it might look like setup and running without an event to trigger it: |

Is there a cursor/marker at where the pass/fail has failed? I have it on fail-to-stop. |

You can also have it send a logic signal to the rear BNC if you need to interface with another device. |

Does the UPS have an old fashioned RS232 output? Use that as a trigger. |
