uSupply revisited

I've built and tested a version of Dave's power supply. My version doesn't try to be clever with batteries but is intended for use with an old laptop brick as the power source. Full details including fully worked code (to run on the Micromite) is available here http://www.thebackshed.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=8417&PN=1&TPN=1

The user interface uses a colour TFT display and touch-screen input

Hello, thanks for this post. I have been looking to build a power supply like this but Dave's blog fizzled out and I had no idea how to start the software or mod it to run off a laptop brick!

How easy would it be to adjust it to just use a 16x2 LCD?

I have a vague recollection that Dave wasn't satisfied with some characteristic (Bug?) in the behavior of the regulator IC. It is too long ago to be sure anymore. Maybe it was just for the other reasons he has said publicly that he shelved the project. Someone will remember better than be.
I have actually never seen real tests with the step up convertor which is in Dave's design.
The ripple of step up convertors is pretty high, so it could be that ripple at the output of the regulator isn't going to be very nice because the ripple rejection isn't very good at these frequencies.
