Charge pump circuit question
(1/1)
Etesla:
I am looking for a 4X voltage multiplier topology that limits the voltage across ALL the involved capacitors to the input voltage of the system.

For example, if Vin = a 4V peak to peak sin wave, I want Vout to be 8V, and the maximum voltage across any one of the capacitors to be 2V. The classic voltage multiplier circuits all seem to charge capacitors further along the chain to a higher voltage, which is not what I want. Any ideas?
jbb:
How about a Cocroft-Walton multiplier?
Etesla:
Cockcroft–Walton multipliers are close to what I want, but most of the caps have approximately 2*Vin_Peak across them. I want the caps to have at most Vin_Peak across them.
langwadt:
but why?
