| Chinese MOSFET logo = International Rectifier ? |

Hi, The 1st attached logo is from a Chinese MOSFET IRFZ44N bought from eBay. Could this be the logo of the International Rectifier http://www.irf.com established in the USA? |
| wraper:
It is IR logo with a bit wrong diode placement and dimensions. I would not bet it's a genuine part. |

I thought so...., but anyway, do you know (testing/experiment/replacement) if these Chinese MOFSETs are reliable? Regards, PS: Since the power supply is output a regulated DC voltage up to 24V, why the manufacturer selected to use a MOSFET with 100V Vds? I want to say it's ok to have a wide margin ahead from the working voltage but 24V to 100V the difference is too big! |
| wraper:
Most of them are unreliable crap with a tiny die inside. Nothing to do with conformity to specs or original part. |

You could try and measure their RDSon, or have a high current go through them and see how warm they get. Fake parts usually have a higher resistance and therefore get a lot warmer. |
