I once saw a web site where you could enter a number and it would return constants and other applications where that number appeared. It was extensive in its coverage, with thousands of entries. Never been able to find it again. Does anybody know of that site?
I doubt this is it, but maybe the online encyclopedia of integer sequences?

Wikipedia has entries for most small numbers. Some are dates, some have mathematical facts, many don't exist (you can help by expanding this list
).
Not sure about a more dedicated site. Probably there's a few dedicated to math facts?

That sequence site is good- thanks. Turns out WolframAlpha does a pretty good job, though I don't know if that's the site I once found.
Ah, what you are looking for is "Plouffe's Inverter".
It doesn't exist anymore and the various replacements don't seem active either.
You could put in "0.7071" and would tell you sqrt(2)/2
