I'm currently designing a 120ish watt smps for which I a tiny transformer (only for a micro and the smps controller) in calculating the inductor value I need the ripple current through it.
Would the ripple current be defined as the largest peak to peak current draw of the power supply, roughly 5amps pk to pk for a 24v output for a 340vdc input, since the load is a pwm controlled soldering iron (jbc t245). So do I take 5amps as the pk to pk ripple current through the inductor?
