Compatible microcontroler
« on: March 31, 2020, 03:04:09 pm »
hello, I am happy to announce that the company that I work for will soon start producing helping equipment in such troublesome days.
Me and my team of very highly skilzzzed workers have many thousands of years of experience in producing very high capacity 99999ma batteries for a long list of medical devices and we have been selected to assemble an essential device.

I am here to request your help in finding an equivalent part to the ST10F278 microcontroller, I have manage to download the datasheet of it from : https://www.st.com/en/applications/medical-and-healthcare/cpap-and-respirators.html, unfortunately it is too big to attach on this forum, you can get it by using login:

 user: MEDICALENGINEER
 password: ACCESSMEDICALDEVICES

We need compatible microcontroller for this essential device firmware, which is available here: https://www.medtronic.com/us-en/e/open-files.html?cmpid=vanity_url_medtronic_com_openventilator_Corp_US_Covid19_FY20 . If you are an expert and don't know a compatible device can you work into converting the firmware for STM32FEB, or STM32F103C8T6 with two circular depressions.

Because of language and regional difficulties we could not source medical grade 101K/ZL  pump mentioned in build of materials page 666, our medicinal acupuncture license is still not accepted by 93/42/EEC, if you have insight please provide WATER pump datasheet for us to obtain identical pump dimensions and color.

Please help us in order to produce millions of these equipment at very low price.

UPDATE TO THIS POST:
I attempted to pass the following message:
 -  the full disclosure of the construction of an medical device as important as an ventilator can result in the cloning of such device resulting in even more damage and possible even enforcing the total removal of genuine and clone devices from all medical centers.

So, who are you and who do you work for? Who will finance this?

Does your company have publicly made any design open?

If you are not certificated how do you expect to sell millions of critical medical devices?

As far as I know Medtronic didn't release any firmware and might not ever release it..
Because there is no firmware in those files.

I am a bit disappointed with your answers, can you watch Dave's video about Medtronic bust and read it again please.

A bad ventilator is better than no ventilator.
If there is a shortage I would rather my relatives or myself had a bad ventilator than not one at all.
In the UK they are talking about an expedited 1 week certification process for these devices, so that is how they will be certified.

What if this bad ventilator blew the lungs, gave and acidose or a contamination by bad air filtration to your loved one or even you, would you be okay with that?

Also, here in Brazil this devices must be ANVISA compliant (similar to FDA in US) these equipment would never be in any hospital without certifications, them why is everyone acting crazy to develop such a complex device if in the ends the probably won't be used?

ST10F276  https://octopart.com/search?q=ST10F276&currency=USD&specs=0

very limited amount. this is a very old processor core. it is a ST designed processor core. nobody else ever made it.

Given the relative importance of the color of the water pump in the OP, referenced on page 666 of the evil (>:D) BOM, I would say it was probably april 1st somewhere. Neeeeext!

PS: And the pump color should be mauve. Obviously.

That statement could very well be totally true. So lets assume it is 100% correct.

Sanity check #1: The st.com user + pass that you provided. Did it work? mmmmhh....
Sanity check #2: Can you please provide the exact document name containing BOM page 666 (as mentioed in first post). Can you provide it? mmmmhhh....
The rest left as exercise for the reader.

Anyways, enough keystrokes spent on this. Future readers should now have ample information to decide to either ignore thread, or to engage the totally-innocent-no-really first time poster with witty repartee.

For completion, include original post:

Which is nonsense.

So, you want to use the base work of a pseudo open source project that was only kinda shown to the public to make the news, and now you also want help from others to achieve a final working product while not fully disclosing what you are doing?

So, free work?  :-DD

Does your company have publicly made any design open?

Hello Jose', I'm new here but have looked at the schematics and the firmware for the medtronic device.  Porting the firmware to a newer STM device would be difficult but not impossible.  Several other parts will probably need to be updated as well.

I'll echo R.Valente's question:  Which company do you work for?  If you can show that your company (in Portugal, I assume) is real and capable of actually doing this, then perhaps we can talk.

Regards

The world is full of what-ifs. So what?

What if the alternative was no ventilator and they died? I'll take a chance on a random machine someone built at home any day if the alternative is death. Once again I'll remind people of all the airplanes built by various non-aviation companies during WWII. Aviation is regulated to arguably a greater degree than medical during normal times but during the times of a serious crisis we throw those regulations out the window because while the unregulated device may kill someone, the regulations WILL kill many by holding up the supply of lifesaving equipment. I don't know why this is hard for some to understand.

We are already doing things like this, it's not just an idea, it's happening: https://hackaday.com/2020/03/19/saving-4-patients-with-just-1-ventilator/

What do your regulations have to say about that?
