SMD component ID help.
« on: September 20, 2017, 07:55:07 am »
I'm working on a small power supply charger circuit and am having trouble identifying a part.

Its a SOT23-5 package marked "28S"
(Edited - I mistakenly put SOT23-6)

The overlay designator 'U' suggests its an IC.

Pin2 goes to ground.
Pin3 is to the battery (could be either charge or discharge).

I can't work out what it is. Any ideas?

You mention SOT23-5 and SOT23-6, but I see only 5 pins.

How many does it really have?

It would also help to trace out where the other 3 pins go.

Edit: Might be TPD4E002DRLR (image in link attached for future reference.)

Thanks amyk.

It certainly looks like it is a TPD4E002DRLR.

The marking is identical.

(I had mistakenly put SOT23-6 rather than SOT23-5).

I'm not entirely sure how the TPD4E002DRLR which is a quad TVS diode array fits in the circuit - as I trace it further I guess I will find out.

By the way how did you find that information? I was lost.

Cheers!

WOOPS: this is a 4-lead SC82 device.
Topmark seems to match the SII S-1335D26-N4T2U3 2.6V LDO - HIGH RIPPLE-REJECTION SOFT-START FUNCTION CMOS VOLTAGE REGULATOR.

I've traced out more of the circuit. I'mpretty certain its a  TPD4E002DRLR.

Thanks for your help guys.
