Connector board for GPSDOs
« on: November 02, 2019, 06:03:22 pm »
Hi,

I'm thinking of designing a small connector board for those many Symmetricom/Trimble/Samsung/Whatnot surplus GPSDOs from Ebay

The interface to the GPSDO will be only the 50pin FPC connector.

I'm looking for suggestions on which signals and interfaces to break out. Also, I'm contemplating to throw in an adjustable buck converter since these boards are a bit finicky about their input voltage - some work with 5V, some want 5.5V or more.

* Power input from a 12V plug pack, 5.5/2.1mm barrel jack
* DB9 connector for the RS232 debug port
* some connector for an LVTTL version of the same interface (using a MAX3232), shrouded pin header, maybe.
* maybe break out all UARTs as LVTTL?

I'm assuming that most people will connect a BNC-MCX pigtail for 10MHz and 1PPS, though the FPC has an LVTTL 10MHz, too.

Looking for suggestions.
