Contact heart rate measurement

Hi,
I want to know how can I measure heart rate using metal contacts, something like in treadmills. any Ideas? or chip we have for them? I want to use it for a fitness app.

That's called ECG/EKG, basically you need an amplifier with a low noise floor and good common mode rejection.

Thanks, for the info, if we have a good app note to understand the concept or a cheap way of doing it from Chinese ppl, it would be very nice ^-^
