CRD alternative

Hello,
Recently i designed some device in which i needed to limit current.
I used CRD (Current Regulative Diode).
For example this:
https://pl.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Semitec/S-202T?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtjJbtednZihoE8nwVXbu0d
My question is that what is the cheapest alternative to this device?
I found only current limiter based on JFET's.
Any ideas?

I assume you mean exclusively for two terminal devices.
LM317s can be configured to provide a constant current. The LM334 is an integrated current regulator. Depletion mode MOSFETs can be used in place of JFETs. The LM10/LT1635 operational amplifier and reference is also useful as a basic building block to make current regulators.

Depending on the circuit requirements, you might be able to use a current source based around a bipolar transistor, two diodes, and two resistors.
