Plug Top PSU Case Pins

Just before Maplin hit the skids I bought an empty plug top PSU case, the wall wart style case but with nothing inside. I've come to use it on a project and I'm struggling with how the pins are meant to be connected to, solder does not appear to be sticking to them no matter what I try, the hole through them to me says the wire should go through but I'm at a loss as to how I then fix the wire in place. I've tried making some sort of loop around the pin but that to me does not seem to be the right way and could shake free.

These cases used to be everywhere but I can't seem to find that many now (guess there is no market for them) and obviously Maplin has since left us. All the ones I've found on the internet seem to suggest they come with flying wires on the pins but this has empty pins.

Can anyone help with the correct way?

There are PSUs with springy contacts on PCB. But this particular type looks to be meant for soldering. Probably solder does not stick because of too weak soldering iron which is unable to heat terminals enough and lack of flux.

Thank you, you gave me the confidence to turn up the heat a little bit (I was afraid of the pins melting out of alignment) and after heat and a lot of flux the solder did eventually stick.
